Tom Lawlor is set to return to the octagon later this year as he will meet Gian Villante at UFC on FOX 16 on July 25 in Chicago.
The fight booking was announced by the UFC on late Thursday evening.
UFC on FOX 16 will come from the United Center in Chicago, Illinois and will be headlined a title rematch as T.J. Dillashaw defends the bantamweight title against former champion Renan Barao.
Lawlor (9-5, 1NC) has been out of action since 2013 when he defeated Michael Kuiper by submission at UFC on FUEL TV 9. He has won two of his last three fights and seven of his nine wins have come by stoppage. Villante (13-5) is coming off a win against Corey Anderson at UFC on FOX 15 and he has won back to back fights. He has won the Fight of the Night bonus in both of those fights and he is 6-2 in his last eight fights.
