An arm injury has forced Hector Urbina to pull out of his UFC 188 bout next week against Albert Tumenov and replacing Urbina in the bout is UFC newcomer Andrew Todhunter.
Urbina announced on Wednesday evening that he was out of the event and Todhunter’s management team has announced that Todhunter is stepping up to face Tumenov.
UFC 188 will come from the Mexico City Arena in Mexico City, Mexico next Saturday night and will be headlined by a heavyweight title unification bout as Cain Velasquez returns from injury to meet Fabricio Werdum.
Todhunter (7-0) most recently competed in Legacy Fighting Championship and his last fight came in September of last year when he defeated Levi Avera by submission. Since turning pro in 2011, all of his wins have come by submission and five of them have come in the first round. Tumenov (15-2) is currently on a three fight winning streak after losing his UFC debut last year. Two of those three wins have come by knockout and he is coming off a decision win against Nico Musoke.
