Dominique Steele won the CES MMA welterweight title last month and he is now a UFC fighter as he has agreed to replace Antonio Braga Neto at UFC on FOX 16 against Zak Cummings.
UFC officials announced the signing of Steele and the fight booking against Cummings on Wednesday.
UFC on FOX 16 will come from the United Center in Chicago, Illinois on July 25 and will be headlined a title rematch as T.J. Dillashaw defends the bantamweight title against former champion Renan Barao.
Steele (13-5) defeated Chuck O’Neil by unanimous decision at CES MMA 29 to win the welterweight title and he is 7-1 in his last eight fights. Five of his last six wins have come by decision and this will be his third fight in 2015. Cummings (17-4) won back to back fights after being on The Ultimate Fighter and is coming off a submission defeat against Gunnar Nelson last year. The defeat snapped a four fight winning streak and he is 7-2 in his last nine fights.
