The co-main event of next month’s Bellator 141 is now set and it will be a matchup of former tournament finalist as Patricky Pitbull meets Saad Awad.
The fight booking was announced by Bellator on Thursday.
Bellator 141 will come from the Pechanga Resort and Casino in Temecula, California on August 28 and will be headlined by Melvin Guillard making his promotional debut against Brandon Girtz.
Pitbull (13-6) is a two-time lightweight tournament finalist and this will be his first fight since losing to Marcin Held in the season ten tournament final last year. Prior to that fight, he had won three in a row, including a knockout against David Rickels. Awad (18-6) has won his last three fights and has a win over current Bellator champion Will Brooks. He will enter this fight following a decision win in April against Rob Sinclair and he is 10-2 in his last twelve fights.
