Roger Carroll steps up on short notice to meet Brennan Ward at Bellator 140 on Friday

Brennan Ward has a new opponent for Friday’s Bellator 140 as he will be meeting Roger Carroll in a welterweight bout on the main card broadcast on Spike.Bellator 140 Poster

The new fight booking was announced by Bellator in a press release on Monday.

Bellator 140 will come from the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut and will be headlined by a title fight as Douglas Lima defends the welterweight title against Andrey Koreshkov.

Carroll (16-11) is currently on a three fight winning streak and this will be his Bellator debut. During his recent winning streak, all of the wins have come by submission and his most recent win came in March against Todd Chattelle at CES MMA 28. Ward (10-3) dropped down to the welterweight division at the beginning of the year and defeated Curtis Millender at Bellator 134. He was initially scheduled to fight Gavin Sterritt on this card, but Sterritt withdrew from the fight last week and was subsequently cut by Bellator.
