The medical suspensions for UFC Fight Night 71 have been released by the California State Athletic Commission and nine fighters on the card are facing a potential six month suspension.
California State Athletic Commission Executive Director Andy Foster released the medical suspensions on Monday to The MMA Report after they were requested.
UFC Fight Night 71 took place last week at the Valley View Casino Center in San Diego, California and was headlined by Frank Mir defeating Todd Duffee by knockout in the first round.
The complete UFC Fight Night 71 medical suspensions are below:
- Frank Mir: 7-day mandatory rest period.
- Todd Duffee: Suspended 45 days and no contact for 30 days, no exception (KO loss).
- Tony Ferguson: Suspended 180 days and no contact 180 days or clear by optical physician for possible fracture to right eye (painful); 7-day mandatory rest period.
- Josh Thomson: Suspended 45 days and no contact for 30 day, no exception (hard bout); Suspended 60 days and no contact for 60 days or clear by physician for facial and scalp lacerations. Suspended 180 days and no contact 180 days or clear by physician for right elbow, right knee, forearm.
- Holly Holm: 7-day mandatory rest period.
- Marion Reneau: Suspended 180 days and no contact for 180 days or clear by physician for possible fracture to right ribs; 7-day mandatory rest period.
- Manny Gamburyan: 7-day mandatory rest period.
- Scott Jorgensen: Suspended 180 days and no contact for 180 days or clear by physician for possible fracture to left knee; 7-day mandatory rest period.
- Kevin Lee: 7-day mandatory rest period.
- James Moontasri: 7-day mandatory rest period.
- Alan Jouban: 7-day mandatory rest period.
- Matt Dwyer: Suspended 45 days and no contact for 30, no exception (hard bout); Suspended 60 days and no contact for 60 days or clear by physician for laceration to left eye.
- Sam Sicilia: Suspended 180 days and no contact for 180 days or clear by orthopedic physician for possible left lower leg injury; 7-day mandatory rest period.
- Yaotzin Meza: 7-day mandatory rest period.
- Jessica Andrade: Suspended 180 days and no contact for 180 days or clear by physician for possible fracture to left thumb, 7-day mandatory rest period.
- Sarah Moras: Suspended 45 days and no contact for 30 days, no exception (hard bout).
- Rani Yahya: Suspended 180 days and no contact for 180 days or clear by physician for neuro (CT Scan), 7-day mandatory rest period.
- Masanori Kanehara: Suspended 180 days and no contact for 180 days or clear by orthopedic physician for possible fracture to right elbow; 7-day mandatory rest period.
- Sean Strickland: Suspended 180 days and no contact for 180 days or clear by physician for possible fracture to right 3rd knuckle; 7-day mandatory rest period.
- Igor Araujo: Suspended 45 days and no contact for 30 days, no exception (hard bout)
- Kevin Casey: 7-day mandatory rest period.
- Ildemar Alcantara: 7-day mandatory rest period.
- Lyman Good: Suspended 60 days and no contact for 60 days or clear by physician for laceration to right ear, 7-day mandatory rest period.
- Andrew Craig: Suspended 45 days and no contact for 30 days, no exception (TKO).
