The UFC Fight Night 73 fight card has been finalized by the UFC following the promotion finding new opponents for Uriah Hall and Dustin Ortiz as Hall will now be facing UFC newcomer Oluwale Bamgbose, while Ortiz will be meeting Willie Gates.
The new fight bookings were announced by the UFC on Thursday evening.
UFC Fight Night 73 will come from the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee and will be headlined by a light heavyweight bout as former title challenger Glover Teixeira will meet Ovince Saint Preux.
Hall (10-5) was scheduled to face Joe Riggs, but he pulled out of the fight card earlier this week with an undisclosed injury. Hall enters this fight following a defeat and it snapped a three fight winning streak. Bamgbose (5-0) made his pro debut in 2013 and all of his pro fights have come in the Ring of Combat. All of his wins have come by TKO in the first round and his most recent win came in June against Brian Booth.
Ortiz (14-4) had been booked to face Ian McCall and “Uncle Creepy” pulled out of the fight today with an undisclosed injury. Ortiz is 3-2 in the UFC and is coming off a decision lost last year against Joseph Benavidez. Gates (12-5) lost his UFC debut last year and is coming off a TKO earlier this month against Darrell Montague. He won that fight by TKO and nine of his twelve wins have come by stoppage.
