The vacant Bellator middleweight title will be on the line in the co-main event of Bellator 144 on October 23 in Connecticut as former champion Brandon Halsey will meet Rafael Carvalho.
The fight booking was confirmed by Bellator President Scott Coker on the most recent episode of The MMA Road Show with John Morgan.
Bellator 144 will come from the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut and will be headlined by a bantamweight title fight rematch as champion Marcos Galvao makes his first title defense against former champion Eduardo Dantas.
Halsey (9-0) was stripped of the Bellator middleweight title earlier this year when he missed weight for his scheduled title defense against Kendall Grove. He ended up defeating Grove by TKO in the fourth round and his last three wins have come by finish. Carvalho (11-1) has won eleven in a row since dropping his pro debut and two of those wins have come in Bellator. His most recent win came in April as he scored a split decision win against Joe Schilling.
The current Bellator 144: Galvao vs. Dantas II fight card is below.
Marcos Galvao (17-6-1) vs. Eduardo Dantas (17-4)
Brandon Halsey (9-0) vs. Rafael Carvalho (11-1)
Michael Page (8-0) vs. TBA
Brennan Ward (11-3) vs. TBA
