The lightweight division roster in the WSOF continues to grow as the promotion has signed Jason High and Mike Ricci to multi-fight contracts.
The signings of High and Ricci were announced by the WSOF on Tuesday.
High (18-5) was released from the UFC last year following his lost to Rafael dos Anjos at UFC Fight Night 42. Following the fight, High pushed the referee and the commission ended up suspending him for one year. Ricci (10-4) comes to the WSOF after scoring two wins in Titan FC and the most recent victory came against George Sotiropoulos. He was scheduled to fight Pat Healy in July, but an injury forced him out of the fight.
“We are pleased to welcome Jason High and Mike Ricci, two extremely talented and exciting athletes, to our roster,” said World Series of Fighting President Ray Sefo. “Our lightweight division is expanding at an aggressive pace, and both Jason and Mike will surely add depth to the competitive pool of athletes in this weight class, and provide us with the means to create some highly compelling matchups with potential title fight implications.”
Both fighters are expected to make their WSOF debuts later this year.
