Former WSOF lightweight title challenger Nick Newell has an opponent for WSOF 24 on October 17 in Connecticut as he will face Tom Marcellino.
Newell tweeted the fight booking on Monday.
WSOF 24 will come from the Foxwoods Casino in Mashantucket, Connecticut and will be headlined by a welterweight bout as Jon Fitch meets Yushin Okami.
Newell (12-1) is coming off a decision win against Joe Condon at WSOF 20 and he is 3-1 in the promotion. The win over Condon was his second career win by decision and his previous decision win came in 2012 at XFC 17. Marcellino (7-3) has gone 0-2 in the WSOF and will enter this fight following a decision lost at WSOF 13 against Frankie Perez. Four of his seven wins have come by submission and three of those have come by rear-naked choke.
