UFC 190 will take place tonight from the HSBC Arena in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and the fight card will begin at 7 p.m. ET/4 p.m. PT with two preliminary bout on Fight Pass before the televised preliminary card begins at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on FOX Sports 1.
The main card on pay-per-view will begin at 10 p.m. ET/7 p.m. PT and will he headlined by a title fight as Ronda Rousey defends the women’s bantamweight title against Bethe Correia.
Take a look at my Draft Kings preview and recommended lineup for today’s event.
Ronda Rousey ($12,200) vs. Bethe Correia
There aren’t too many rules when it comes to filling out a line-up on Draft Kings, but one of them is this: anytime a card has Ronda Rousey on it, you’re line-up should as well.
Dileno Lopes ($11,300) vs. Reginaldo Vieira
On a relatively forgettable season of The Ultimate Fighter Brazil, Dileno Lopes stood out not only as a high-level prospect heading into a show but a fighter that performed well while on set. The same can’t be said about Reginaldo Vieira. Vieira has shown enough in his pre-TUF career to believe that he’ll score a few wins inside the UFC, but there’s a real gap in talent between Lopes and Vieira. Look for Lopes to earn his seventeenth career finish.
Antonio Silva ($8,800) and Rafael Cavalcante ($8,800)
Putting Rousey and Lopes in the line-up will probably be worth it, but their high prices are not to kind to the bankroll. With what’s remaining, the only place to look at our underdogs, and two underdogs that stuck out to me where Silva and Cavalcante. Both Silva and Cavalcante are veterans that have made habits out of putting together a stock-building performance in a fight and then following said fight up with a downer, and both fighters are taking on opponents in Soa Palelei and Patrick Cummins that have success but still possess several question marks.
Jessica Aguilar ($8,200) vs. Claudia Gadelha
Outside of Joanna Jedrzejczyk, there still isn’t a clear identity among strawweight fights – especially among the top tier of a contenders, and that’s a tier that both Aguilar and Gadelha belong to. In a contest between two top-flight strawweights that aren’t separated my much in terms of past production and skill level, there’s a lot to like about Aguilar’s low value at $8,200. While a win by Aguilar would most likely come by way of decision given that Gadelha has the edge both as a striker and a grappler, the wrestling of Aguilar provides the opportunity to pull off an upset.
