Former CES MMA welterweight champion Chuck O’Neil is moving up to the middleweight division and will make his 185 pound debut next month against Daniel Vizcaya at CES MMA 31.
The fight booking was announced by CES MMA officials on Friday.
CES MMA 31 will come from the Twin River Casino in Lincoln, Rhode Island on October 30 and will feature Chip Moraza-Pollard and Gil de Freitas meeting for the vacant welterweight title.
O’Neil (15-7) lost the CES MMA welterweight title in June when he lost a decision against Dominique Steele at CES MMA 29. The defeat snapped a four fight winning streak and it was his first defeat since 2013. Vizcaya (8-3) is coming off a win against Yousef Al-Ghoul last year and he is 5-1 in his last six fights. Six of his eight wins have come by stoppage, with four of those victories coming by submission.
