A very intriguing welterweight bout has been added to the UFC 194 lineup as Demian Maia will meet Gunnar Nelson on the December 12 card in Las Vegas.
UFC officials announced the fight booking this morning.
UFC 194 will come from the MGM Grand Garden Arena on December 12 and will be headlined by a featherweight title unification bout as champion Jose Aldo meets interim champion Conor McGregor.
Maia (21-6) has won three in a row and has gone 6-2 in the UFC welterweight division. His most recent win came last month as he submitted Neil Magny at UFC 190. Nelson (14-1-1) is also coming off a submission win as he defeated Brandon Thatch at UFC 189 in July. He has won five of his six fights in the the UFC and four of those wins have come by submission.
