A welterweight bout that was reported earlier this week is now official as Sage Northcutt will make his UFC debut against Francisco Trevino at UFC 192 in Houston.
The fight booking was initially reported by the Houston Chronicle and the fight is now listed on the official fight card on the UFC website.
UFC 192 will come from the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas on October 3 and will be headlined by a title fight as Daniel Cormier defends the light heavyweight title against Alexander Gustafsson.
Northcutt (5-0) was signed by the UFC following his victory over Rocky Long at last week’s Legacy 44. Four of his five wins have come in the first round and he defeated Long by submission in the second round. Trevino (12-1) made his UFC debut last year and scored a victory against Renee Forte at UFC 171. His next fight would end up taking place 14 months later at UFC 188 and suffered his first career defeat as he lost a decision against Johnny Case.
