A matchup of top UFC welterweights has been booked for UFC Fight Night 88 on May 14 in Brazil as Demian Maia will meet Matt Brown.
UFC officials confirmed the fight booking on Monday afternoon.
UFC Fight Night 88 will be headlined by a middleweight bout as Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza meets Vitor Belfort and the venue for this fight card has not been announced at this time.
Maia (22-6) is currently on a four fight winning streak and is coming off a win against Gunnar Nelson at UFC 194. Since dropping to welterweight in 2012, Maia has gone 7-2 and four of his last five wins have come by decision. Brown (20-13) enters this fight following a win at UFC 189 against Tim Means and the defeat snapped a two fight losing streak. He is 8-2 in his last ten fights and seven of those wins have come by stoppage.
