Chris Curtis defends welterweight title against Nah-Shon Burrell in the main event of CES MMA 34

CES MMA will be heading to the Foxwoods Casino on April 1 and the event will be headlined by a title fight as Chris Curtis defends the welterweight title against Nah-Shon Burrell.

The fight booking was announced by CES MMA officials on Monday and along with announcing the main event, the promotion revealed that Calvin Kattar will meet Kenny Foster in the co-main event of the fight card.

“We are very excited to be showcasing CES MMA from the historic Fox Theater to a national audience live on AXS TV Fights,” CES MMA CEO Jimmy Burchfield Jr. said in the announcement of the event. “Foxwoods, AXS TV and CES are a knockout combination.”

Curtis (13-4) won the CES MMA welterweight title in January as he defeated Gil de Freitas by stoppage in the opening round. He will enter this fight with three straight wins and has gone 6-1 in his last seven fights. Burrell (12-6, 1NC) is coming off a TKO win against Ryan Dickson at Global Proving Ground 22 in November and he has won two of his last three fights. His TKO win over Dickson was his eighth career stoppage win and all of those wins have come by TKO/KO.

Katter (14-2) is currently on a six fight winning streak and his last four wins have come by decision. This will be his first fight since June of 2013, which was a victory against Gabriel Baino. Foster (11-10) has dropped back to back fights and four of his last five. His last fight took place in November at Ring of Combat 53 and was submitted by Lester Caslow.

More details on CES MMA will be released in the coming weeks by the promotion.
