While the exact date of UFC 199 is not known at this time, we now know that the middleweight title will be on the line as Luke Rockhold defends the title against former champion Chris Weidman.
UFC President Dana White announced the fight booking during an appearance on Garbage Time with Katie Nolan on FS1.

Rockhold (15-2) defeated Weidman by TKO in the fourth round at UFC 194 to win the UFC middleweight title and it was his fifth straight victory. All of his wins during his winning streak have come by stoppage and he has won a Fight Night bonus in four of the five fights. Weidman (13-1) has been asking for this rematch and stated recently that he began training for a rematch with Rockhold. Prior to losing to Rockhold, he successfully defended the UFC title three times and two of those victories came by stoppage.
