The UFC announced earlier today that the main event of UFC Fight Night 87 on May 8 in the Netherlands will be Alistair Overeem vs. Andrei Arlovski and the promotion has announced five new fight bookings for the May 8 fight card.
The new fight bookings were revealed on the official fight card on the UFC website with the matchups being Antonio Silva vs. Stefan Struve, Rashid Magomedov vs. Chris Wade, Yan Cabral vs. Reza Madadi, Magnus Cedenblad vs. Garreth McLellan and Peter Sobotta vs. Domonic Waters.
UFC Fight Night 87 will come from the Ahoy Rotterdam in Rotterdam, Netherlands and ticket information will be released shortly by the promotion.
Silva (19-8, 1NC) has dropped three of his last four fights and is coming off a TKO lost to Mark Hunt at UFC 193. His only win in his last four fights came back in August of last year as he scored a stoppage victory against Soa Palelei. Struve (26-8) also has lost three of his last four and he is coming off a decision defeat against Jared Rosholt at UFC 193. Just like Silva, his last win came at UFC 190 as he defeated Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira by decision.
Magomedov (20-1) made his UFC debut two years ago and has gone 4-0 in the promotion. His most recent win came in November as he scored a decision victory against Gilbert Burns. Wade (11-1) is currently on a six fight winning streak and four of those wins have come in the UFC. He is coming off a submission win in January against Mehdi Maghdad and two of his four wins in the UFC have come by submission.
