Unified MMA 26: Tim Hague anticipates a different fight in rematch with Tanner Boser

Former UFC heavyweight Tim Hague will be in the main event of next week’s Unified MMA 26 in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada and he will be looking to secure a title shot when he faces Tanner Boser for the second time.

The first meeting between the two heavyweights came nearly one year ago and Hague would only need six seconds to walk away with the victory. He does anticipate this being a different fight as he expects Boser to fight differently than he did in their first matchup at Unified MMA 22.

“I can learn that I can knock him out with one shot,” Hague said on The MMA Report Podcast when asked what he learned from their first meeting. “I don’t expect Tanner to come out with a foolish game plan like that again. I anticipate a much different fight.”

Since their first meeting, Hague has dropped back to back fights. His most recent defeat came in December at Unified MMA 25 against Tony Lopez and when it comes to that defeat, Hague knows why he was unable to get the victory on that night.

“I feel against Lopez, my issue that I was walking around a little too heavy. Through training, I thought my cardio was good but trying to keep the pace with Lopez, I got quite tired in the third round and everyone could see that he just took over. He got the TKO in the third round and I have made some adjustments. Being more strict with my diet and I am walking around ten pounds lighter at this point than I was for the Lopez fight.”

A victory over Boser next Friday night in Edmonton will set up a rematch with Lopez. However, Hague is not looking ahead at that potential rematch as his only concern is getting his second win against Boser in the main event of Unified MMA 26.
