WSOF 28 Medical Suspensions: Joseph Barajas and Chris Gutierrez facing a potential six month suspension

The medical suspensions for WSOF 28 have been released by the California State Athletic Commission and three fighters on the card are facing a potential six month suspension.

California State Athletic Commission Executive Director Andy Foster released the medical suspensions on Tuesday to The MMA Report after they were requested.

WSOF 28 took place this past Saturday at the Next Level Sports Complex in Garden Grove, California and was headlined by Marlon Moraes retaining the bantamweight title with a stoppage victory against Joseph Barajas.

The complete WSOF 28 medical suspensions are below:

  • Marlon Moraes: 7-day mandatory rest period.
  • Joseph Barajas: Suspended 45 days and no contact for 30 days (KO); Suspended 180 days and no contact for 180 days or clear by physician for possible injury (right knee).
  • Chris Gutierrez: Suspended 180 days and no contact for 180 days or clear by physician for possible fracture (right hand).
  • Timur Valiev: 7-day mandatory rest period.
  • Jamie Yager: 7-day mandatory rest period.
  • Daniel McWilliams: 7-day mandatory rest period.
  • Ozzie Alvarez: 7-day mandatory rest period.
  • Andrew Ramm: Suspended 180 days and no contact for 180 days or clear by physician for possible fracture (nose).
  • Albert Morales: 7-day mandatory rest period.
  • Anthony Paredes: 7-day mandatory rest period.
  • Chris Saunders: 7-day mandatory rest period.
  • Darren Smith: Suspended 60 days and no contact for 60 days or clear by physician for laceration (left eye).
  • Steve Ramirez: 7-day mandatory rest period.
  • Kyle Estrada: Suspended 45 days and no contact for 30 days (KO).
  • Isaias Alvarado: 7-day mandatory rest period.
  • Garrick Evans: Suspended 45 days and no contact for 30 days (TKO).
  • Heinrich Wassmer: 7-day mandatory rest period.
  • Keenan Lewis: 7-day mandatory rest period.
  • Jalin Turner: 7-day mandatory rest period.
  • Eric Steans: Suspended 45 days and no contact for 30 days (KO).
  • Faed Muhammad: 7-day mandatory rest period.
  • Mike Kubeska: Suspended 60 days and no contact for 60 days or clear by physician for laceration to forehead.
