CES MMA 34: Welterweight champion Chris Curtis always felt a rematch with Nah-Shon Burrell would happen

The main event of next week’s CES MMA 34 in Connecticut will be a title fight as welterweight champion Chris Curtis makes his first title defense against UFC and Bellator veteran Nah-Shon Burrell in a rematch of their 2010 bout.

In their initial meeting at Xtreme Caged Combat: Hostile Intent and this was the third professional fight for Curtis. He would score a decision win on that night in Pennsylvania and during his appearance on yesterday’s edition of “The MMA Report Podcast,” Curtis stated that he kind of felt the rematch between the two welterweight fighters would take place at some point.

“I kind of always figured at some point that we would run to each other again,” Curtis said. “We are both trying to fight in the same places. He got there before I did of course, but I figured at some point it happen down the road. I am not surprised. It is what it is.”
