Damien Brown signs with UFC, meets Alan Patrick at UFC Fight Night 85 on Saturday

Australian Damien Brown has signed a contract with the UFC and he will make his promotional debut this weekend at UFC Fight Night 85 as he will be facing Alan Patrick on the preliminary card.

The new fight booking was announced by the UFC on Sunday evening.

UFC Fight Night 85 will come from the Brisbane Entertainment Centre in Brisbane, Australia on Sunday, March 20 (Saturday, March 19 in North America) and will be headlined by a heavyweight bout as Mark Hunt meets former UFC champion Frank Mir.

Brown (15-8) is currently on a five fight winning streak and he is coming off a TKO win in February against Pumau Campbell at Xtreme Fighting Championship 26. During his winning streak, four of the victories have come by stoppage and three of those wins have come by submission. Patrick (12-1) has gone 2-1 in the UFC and he needed a new opponent for the fight card when his initial opponent, Chad Laprise was moved to face Ross Pearson when Abel Trujillo was pulled from the event due to an injury.
