Next month’s New England Fights 22 card in Lewiston, Maine will feature a lightweight bout as Matt Denning looks for his third professional victory when he meets Josh Harvey, who will be making his professional debut.
On last week’s edition of “The MMA Report Podcast,” Harvey was a guest on the show to promote the fight and stated that he finds Denning “disrespectful as a person.” On yesterday’s edition of “The MMA Report Podcast,” Denning responded to the recent comments made by Harvey.
“First thing that caught when I read the listing on the article page was saying that meeting me, people want to fight me,” Denning said. “I don’t really think of myself as like a mean person. I have never had a fight where my opponent did not like me. I have fought guys that have respected me. I’ve had conversations with and met some of their family.”
“That was kind of like the icing on the cake,” he continued. “I haven’t really said much about the fight. I took the fight knowing he has bad blood with me and it was one of those things that was a little disrespectful on the fact that I am not a mean person. I don’t come off to be mean. I don’t try to be mean to anyone. But whatever rubbed him the wrong way has gone pretty far.”
