Lightweight E.J. Brooks will return to the cage tomorrow night at Titan FC 37 as he will look to snap a two fight losing streak when he faces Ben Egli on the fight card coming from the Clark County Events Center in Ridgefield, Washington.
Brooks (8-5) is coming off a decision lost at Titan FC 35 against Jason Novelli and his last four defeats have come by decision. During his appearance on The MMA Report Podcast on Tuesday, Brooks talked about the lessons he has learned from his recent defeats.
“I guess making sure I go into a fight healthy and prepared,” Brooks said. “I don’t walk into somebodies back yard that is a trap for the most part. When I went to Argentina this summer, I was walking into a lose-lose situation. Pretty much thought I was fighting on fair grounds and I wasn’t. Then in the fight in September, I guess I can chalk it up to just over estimating my ability to fight when I was sick.”
“A lot of people don’t know that I came into that fight battling a staph infection and still taking antibiotics. That is the reason I could not make weight for the fight. I was four pounds over and I felt that I would still be able to perform well enough to win a fight. And that was not the case. So pretty much making sure that I don’t walk into the cage unless I am 100 percent ready to go.”
Brooks also talked about his fight against Egli on The MMA Report Podcast and the full interview with Brooks is below.
