The next Valor Fights card will be taking place on April 29 in Knoxville, Tennessee and the event will be headlined by former training partners meeting as Adam Townsend will look for his second straight victory as he faces Steven New.
During this past Thursday’s edition of “The MMA Report Podcast,” Townsend (15-4) was a guest on the show and discussed his upcoming fight against his former teammate. During his appearance on the show, Townsend wondered what area his opponent believes he is better than him and how this fight actually came together.
“I guess his biggest strength is jiu-jitsu and what some people don’t know that are not from the area is that me and Steven trained together probably twenty to thirty times,” Townsend said. “I would like to sit down face to face with him and ask where he can possibly beat me at. I am not going to go into the fight over confident or anything. I am going to go out there and prove that I am the much better man and the much better fighter. But at the same time, I am just curious where he thinks he beats me at. In training, everything we do. I completely murdered him. I guess he is trying to make a name off me or something.”
