Valor Fights 32 will be taking place at the end of the month in Knoxville, Tennessee and the card will feature the return of light heavyweight Cody Bruce as he will step into MMA competition for the first time in three years when he faces Isaac Fine.
Bruce (3-0) last competed as a middleweight at Hardrock MMA 52 in February of 2013 and scored a submission victory on that night against Justin Gamble. During this past Thursday’s edition of “The MMA Report Podcast,” Bruce explained what has been going on with him for the past three years.
“Just been taking time off and kind of enjoying life a little bit,” Bruce said. “I started fighting right out of high school. I was 18 years-old and kind of let it consume me. Got pretty good at it. Won every belt in Kentucky. Got to 3-0 as a pro and kind of got burnt out on it. Actually went to come back a year and a half ago and I had an injury that caused me to be out for another year and a half. Basically, I have been power lifting and coaching wrestling. Just slowly working my way back into it and try to get the pep back in my step like I use to.”
