The co-main event of UFC Fight Night 90 on July 7 in Las Vegas will be a heavyweight bout as Derrick Lewis will look to continue his winning streak against Ultimate Fighter winner Roy Nelson.
Lewis (15-4, 1NC) is currently on a three fight winning streak and his most recent win came last month at UFC Fight Night 86 as he defeated Gabriel Gonzaga by knockout in the opening round. Sixteen of his twenty professional fights have ended in TKO/KO and he stated on last night’s edition of “UFC Tonight” on FS1 that someone is getting knocked out when he faces Nelson.
“My fans were asking me and believe it would be a good match up,” Lewis said. “It’s a fan-friendly fight. Two guys are going to stand and trade, no running around. It’s not going three rounds. It’ll finish in two minutes. Either he’s going to be knocked out or I’m going to be knocked out. No way in hell we’re going to the judges.”
