After defeating Brennan Ward in 30 seconds two weeks ago, Evangelista “Cyborg” Santos will return to the Bellator cage next week as he will meet Saad Awad in a welterweight bout.
The fight booking was reported by MMA Fighting on Thursday and an official announcement from Bellator is expected to come shortly.
Bellator 154 will come from the SAP Center in San Jose, California next Saturday night and will be headlined by a light heavyweight bout as Phil Davis meets Muhammed “King Mo” Lawal.
Santos (21-16) has won back to back fights and his win over Ward was his sixth career win by submission. He is 3-1 in his last four fights and two of the wins have come by stoppage. Awad (18-7) is moving up to the welterweight division and this will be his first fight since losing to Patricky Pitbull at Bellator 141. The defeat snapped a three fight winning streak and has gone 6-3 since returning to Bellator in 2013.
