A flyweight bout has been booked for The Ultimate Fighter 23 Finale as former UFC title challenger John Moraga will meet Ultimate Fighter Brazil 4 alum Matheus Nicolau.
The fight booking was announced by the UFC on Friday.
The Ultimate Fighter 23 Finale will take place on July 8 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas and will be headlined by a title fight as Joanna Jedrzejczyk defends the women’s strawweight title against Claudia Gadelha.
Moraga (16-4) enters this fight following a lost to Joseph Benavidez at UFC 187 last year and he is 3-2 in his last five fights. He has won five of his seven fights in the UFC and four of those wins have come by stoppage. Nicholas (11-1-1) was a semifinalist on The Ultimate Fighter Brazil 4 bantamweight tournament and won his official UFC debut against Bruno Rodrigues at UFC Fight Night 77. Eight of his eleven wins have come by stoppage and his last three wins have come by stoppage.
