The opening bout of the Bellator 158 main card on July 16 in London will be a heavyweight bout as Mark Godbeer will meet James Mulheron.
The fight booking was announced by Bellator in a press release on late Tuesday afternoon.
Bellator 158 will come from the O2 Arena in London, England and will be headlined by a heavyweight rematch as Kimbo Slice looks for his second win against James Thompson.
Godbeer (11-2) has won three in a row since losing his Bellator debut against Cheick Kongo at Bellator 102 and is coming off a TKO win against Stuart Austin. All of his wins have come by stoppage and nine of them have come by TKO/KO. Mulheron (8-1) is coming off a TKO win against Tomasz Czerwinski in November and this will be his Bellator debut. Just like Godbeer, a majority of his wins have come by TKO/KO (5) and he is ready to put on a show against Godbeer.
“I don’t really go into fights with a game plan,” said Mulheron in a press release. “I go in with an open mind. I think every fighter needs to be able to adapt in fights but everyone who watches me knows I come to fight and this fight will be no different.”
