A featherweight bout has been added to CES MMA 36 on June 10 in Lincoln, Rhode Island as Matt Bessette will meet Jairo Soares.
The fight booking was announced by CES MMA on Monday.
CES MMA 36 will come from the Twin River Casino and will be headlined by a title fight as Luis Felix defends the lightweight title against Ryan Sanders.
Bessette (18-7) is currently on a three fight winning streak and is coming off a TKO win against Keith Richardson at Bellator 153 last month. During his winning streak, all of the wins have come by stoppage and two of them have come by submission in the opening round. Soares (17-10) enters this fight with back to back victories and this will be his first fight since 2014. Ten of his wins have come by stoppage with eight of those victories coming by submission.
“At this point in my career, it doesn’t matter who I’m fighting,” Bessette said. “My job is the same each and every time. Go out there and stop my opponent by any means necessary. I’m sure my opponent is well-versed in all aspects of the game — you have to be to get to this stage — but I’m going to go out there and do everything I can to beat him and put on a show.”
