After having five fights in the Bellator welterweight division, Chris Honeycutt will be moving up to the middleweight division in six days as he will meet Mikkel Parlo at Bellator 156 in Fresno, California.
Honeycutt (7-1, 1NC) has gone 3-1, 1NC in Bellator and he enters this fight following a decision victory against Matt Secor at Bellator 153 in April. During his appearance on Wednesday’s edition of “The MMA Report Podcast,” Honeycutt talked about the move to middleweight and explained how his days at welterweight may not be over.
“It’s possible could be,” Honeycutt explained on The MMA Report Podcast if the move to middleweight is permanent. “He will see. My camp is going tremendous. I am healthier and better than ever. But it has to translate well in the ring too. You can feel the best in the world, but if it doesn’t translate into the fight, I can’t see it being a permanent move. I am always willing to drop back down to welterweight to fight anyone. I just want to stay active. I enjoy fighting. I train hard and so I will fight anyone really.”
