Tanner Boser will defend the Unified MMA heavyweight title on September 30 at Unified MMA 28 as he will be challenged by Nick Rossborough in the main event of the fight card.
The fight booking was announced by Unified MMA officials on Tuesday evening.
Unified MMA 28 will come from The Royal Palace in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada and tickets for the event will go on sale July 19.
Boser (9-2) claimed the heavyweight title last month at Unified MMA 27 as he defeated Tony Lopez by unanimous decision. He has won four of his last five fights and three of those four wins have come by stoppage.
“Nick has fought for elite organizations in this sport, so I’m expecting an elite, very game opponent,” Boser said about Rossborough. “He’s going to be tough, but I predict a knockout in the second round.”
Rossborough (25-19-1) enters this fight following a lost last year against Satoshi Ishii and he is 5-3-1 in his last nine fights. Twenty-one of his twenty-five wins have come by stoppage and fourteen of those wins have come by submission.
“I don’t know if he’s ever fought anyone like me before. But if he predicted that, I’ll give him a run for his money ,” says Rossborough. “If he wants to stand and bang, I’ve got some pretty heavy hands myself.”
The current Unified MMA 28 fight card is below.
Tanner Boser (6-2) vs. Nick Rossborough (25-19-1)
Parwez Ghulam (6-2) vs. Curtis DeMarce (16-12)
Nick Campbell (9-7) vs. Denny Houle (5-0)
