Andrew Whitney explains why he will be the uncrowned Titan FC bantamweight champion with a win tonight

The process of crowning the next Titan FC bantamweight champion will begin tonight at Titan FC 40 as the promotion will kick off a four-man tournament and one of the matchups will be Andrew Whitney taking on Anderson Dos Santos on the fight card coming from the BankUnited Center in Coral Gables, Florida.

Whitney (13-4) is coming off a decision win in April at Titan FC 38 against Cory Tait and he is currently on a three fight winning streak. While his last two wins have come by decision, nine of his thirteen career wins are by stoppage and he explained on Wednesday’s edition of “The MMA Report Podcast” why he feels he will be the uncrowned Titan FC bantamweight champion tonight following a win against Dos Santos.

“Most people don’t know this, I am actually the winningest bantamweight in Titan history,” Whitney stated. “I have the most finishes of any bantamweight in Titan history. But I am the only one without a title fight. I am 6-1, 7-1 and they are letting these guys come over with a 5-1 record and fighting for the title. They haven’t proven themselves or earned their title shot but I am worried about the wins right now. I am looking at bigger and better things right now. If they don’t give me a title fight, they don’t give me the title fight. I am happy with the opportunity that is presented in front of me right now. Dos Santos is actually the champ in my eyes. He missed weight, but he is actually the bantamweight title holder. So I will be the uncrowned champ after I beat him.
