The next CES MMA event will take place on September 23 at the Foxwoods Casino and Resort in Mashantucket, Connecticut and three fights have been announced for the fight card including a featherweight bout between UFC vets Levan Makashvili and Sean Soriano.
CES MMA officials announced the fight bookings on Tuesday in a press release as the other two bouts announced for next month’s fight card are Calvin Kattar vs. Chris Foster and Carlos Candelario vs. Brandon Warne.
Makashvili (11-2-1) went 1-1-1 in the UFC and won his CES MMA debut in June with a decision victory against Ryan Sanders at CES MMA 36. His last six fights have gone to the decision and his last stoppage victory came in 2014 against Scott Heckman.
“I don’t make predictions; I just fight,” said Makashvili. “I respect him as an opponent and I respect his camp, but I plan on getting the CES MMA belt. My biggest challenge is always myself; that belt should already be mine.”
Soriano (9-4) has gone 1-1 since exiting the UFC and is coming off a TKO defeat against Thomas Webb in March at Legacy FC 52. He is 1-4 in his last five fights and seven of his nine wins have come by stoppage.
“This is going to be a fight where we stand and bang,” Soriano said. “He comes in with some wild hooks, and I don’t step back against anyone. It’s going to be exciting. There are going to be a lot of fireworks at Foxwoods.”
