Middleweight Sidney Wheeler feels he is a fight or two away from being in UFC

Valor Fights middleweight champion Sidney Wheeler will look to remain undefeated next Saturday night in Tennessee as he will meet mixed martial arts veteran Joe Riggs in a non-title fight in the main event of Valor Fights 36.

Wheeler (5-0) is coming off a submission win against Kendrick Miree at Valor Fights 33 in May and he has won his last two fights by stoppage after opening up his career with three straight decision victories. Currently, Wheeler is seen as one of the best middleweight prospects on the regional scene and he believes he is on the fast track to a UFC offer.

“He [Riggs] is a big name and just got out of the UFC,” Wheeler said. “Once I break the shoes off him, I think it’s going to draw a lot of attention. I think I will be in the UFC within a fight or two. Maybe less than that. I don’t know.”
