Robert Whittaker vs. Derek Brunson announced as co-main event of UFC Fight Night 101

The co-main event of UFC Fight Night 101 in Melbourne, Australia will be a middleweight bout as Robert Whittaker will look to extend his winning streak to six fights when he meets Derek Brunson.

The fight booking was announced by the UFC on Wednesday.

UFC Fight Night 101 will come from the Rod Laver Arena on November 27 (November 26 in United States) and will be headlined by a middleweight rematch as former UFC champion Luke Rockhold meets Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza.

Whittaker (16-4) made his middleweight debut in late 2014 and has gone 4-0 in the 185 pound division. His last two victories have come by decision and his most recent win came in April as he defeated Rafael Natal by unanimous decision at UFC 197. Brunson (16-3) is also on a five fight winning streak and is coming off a win last weekend against Uriah Hall at UFC Fight Night 94. His last four victories have come by TKO/KO in the first round and they have all come in under three minutes.
