The main event of Shamrock FC 279 on December 2 will be a welterweight bout as UFC veteran Matt Veach will return to competition for the first time since 2013 when he meets Steven Mann on the fight card coming from the River City Casino in St. Louis.
The last time Veach (16-5) stepped into mixed martial arts competition came in March of 2013 against Jim Wallhead at BAMMA 12 and lost via submission in the opening round. Since his exit from the UFC in 2010, Veach has gone 5-3 and two of those victories came by stoppage in the opening round.
