One of the top lightweight title challengers in Bellator will return to competition on Saturday night in San Jose, California for the first time in a year as Brandon Girtz will take on Adam Piccolotti at Bellator 165.
Girtz (14-4) is currently on a three fight winning streak and has won five of his last six fights. His most recent win came at Bellator 146 against Derek Campos by knockout in 37-seconds and he has been on the sidelines since that fight due to a knee injury.
On this edition of “The MMA Report Podcast Extra,” Girtz talks about the recovery from the injury that kept him on the sidelines for the last year and why he views Piccolotti as a prospect heading into their fight on Saturday night.
