The main event of tomorrow’s Bellator 181 will be a trilogy bout as Derek Campos meets Brandon Girtz in a catchweight bout of 158 pounds on the fight card coming from the WinStar World Casino in Thackerville, Oklahoma.
Campos (18-6) enters this fight on a three fight winning streak and is coming off a decision win in January against Derek Anderson at Bellator 170. Originally, he was scheduled to have a rematch against Patricky “Pitbull” Freire on this fight card, but Pitbull was recently moved to the main event of Bellator 183 in September against Benson Henderson.
During this week’s episode of “The MMA Report Podcast,” Campos was a guest on the podcast to preview his trilogy bout against Girtz at Bellator 181 and explained why he initially wanted this matchup to be a catchweight bout of 165 pounds.
