Another Shamrock FC champion is heading to Bellator as welterweight champion Zak Bucia has signed an exclusive, multi-fight deal with the California based mixed martial arts promotion.
A Bellator official confirmed the signing to The MMA Report on Tuesday afternoon and Bucia is the 5th Shamrock FC champion to sign with Bellator (Rebecca Ruth, Rudy Bears, Bobby Brents, and Jordan Howard).
Bucia (18-8) enters Bellator with three straight victories and is coming off a successful title defense last month at Shamrock FC 295 as he defeated Aaron Highfill by submission in the fourth round. Prior to that victory, he scored a decision victory over Bobby Voelker to claim the Shamrock FC welterweight title and he’s 7-2 in his last nine fights.
The Bellator debut of Bucia is expected to be announced in the near future.
