Ring of Combat 63 will take place tonight from the Tropicana in Atlantic City and will be headlined by a title fight as Bill Algeo will defend the Ring of Combat featherweight title against James Gonzalez.
Algeo (9-3) won the vacant Ring of Combat featherweight title last year when he defeated Tin Dooling by stoppage in the second round and he’s won three of his last four fights. He was initially scheduled to make a title defense in March against Tevin Cooke, but the fight was canceled when Cooke pulled out of the fight due to illness.
During this week’s podcast, Algeo was a guest on the podcast to preview his title defense tonight against Gonzalez. In addition to previewing his fight, he talked about weight cutting in MMA and gave his perspective on the topic from a fighter/coach view.
