Alexander Hernandez tells the story on how he went from fighting Francisco Trinaldo to Donald Cerrone

The first event for the UFC will take place on Saturday, January 19 from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York and the featured preliminary bout on ESPN will be a lightweight bout as Alexander Hernandez will look to continue his climb up the lightweight rankings when he meets Donald Cerrone.

Hernandez (10-1) was signed by the UFC last year and took a short notice fight against Beneil Dariush at UFC 222. He entered the fight as a three to one underdog and only needed 42-seconds to defeat Dariush by knockout. Following that fight, he returned to the UFC octagon four months later and scored a decision victory over Oliver Aubin-Mercier to extend his winning streak to eight fights.

Earlier this week on The MMA Report Podcast, Hernandez was a guest on the show to preview his fight against Donald Cerrone at UFC on ESPN+ 1. Watch his complete appearance above as he spoke about his video blog for this fight, how he went from fighting Francisco Trinaldo to Cerrone, and how he sees this fight playing out.
