With Bellator light heavyweight champion Attila Vegh sidelined with a shoulder injury, Bellator officials today announced that King Mo will be facing off against Emanuel Newton in an epic rematch on its inaugural PPV on November 2nd and for the interim light heavyweight championship.
The matchup is a rematch from Bellator 90 in which Emanuel Newton knocked out King Mo with a spinning back fist in the middle of the very first round.
“The energy in the arena when Newton dropped Mo with that spinning back fist was simply awesome,” Bellator Chairman & CEO Bjorn Rebney said. “And, to be able to have this rematch take place on our first PPV is something we couldn’t pass up. With Mo and Emanuel winning our previous two Light Heavyweight Tournaments, the timing was perfect for this rematch add another incredible intriguing storyline to this huge night of fights.”
Bellator 106 takes place on November 2nd from the Long Beach Convention Center and will be headlined by Quinton “Rampage” Jackson meeting Tito Ortiz and the return of Eddie Alvarez as he takes on Bellator lightweight champion Michael Chandler for the title
