The eighth episode of Fight Master: Bellator MMA debuted in its new Thursday post Impact Wrestling time slot on Spike TV and the reality show was looking to bounce back from last weeks season low performance.
Thursday night’s episode landed roughly 50% better with a 595k total viewers, compared to a meager 398k total viewers from the previous week.
The lead-in show of Impact Wrestling, which featured a Hardcore Justice “free PPV” show, included a special appearance by two Bellator fighters, Tito Ortiz and Rampage, landed in the top-100 cable shows at 1.319 million viewers. The lead-in to Impact Wrestling Cops, also hit just about 1 million total viewers, meaning FightMaster lost roughly 50% of the total lead-in audience, which still isn’t terrible, but not exactly great.
When it came to the rest of competition in the top-100 cable charts Fight Master also went head-to-head with some NFL preseason football and SportsCenter on ESPN. The NFL, which did not win the night, hit over 2.9 million viewers and the late SportsCenter hit just over 1 million viewers. The top cable show for the night came by the unlikely show of Family Guy on ADSM which hit just under 3 million viewers, but a winning 1.4 in the 18-49 core demographic.
