Ovince St-Preux won his second straight fight in the UFC and third fight overall as he defeated Cody Donovan by knockout in the first round on the UFC Fight Night 26 preliminary card.
The fighters opened the fight by exchanging punches before Donovan closed the distance and clinched against St. Preux against the fence. He was able to land a couple of punches before breaking away.
Donovan would shot in for a takedown against the fence and as the fight went to the ground, St-Preux reversed the position and was in Donovan’s guard. He would land several left hands and referee Herb Dean would come in to stop the fight when it was clear that Donovan was out.
St-Preux (14-5) has now won eleven of his last twelve fights and he now has won seven of his fights by knockout. The defeat for Donovan (8-3) snapped a four fight winning streak and all three of his losses have come by TKO in the first round.
