The UFC has added a lightweight bout to UFC 151 on September 1st as Shane Roller will take on Jacob Volkmann.
The UFC made the announcement on their website and it’s not known if this fight will take place on the preliminary card or the main card, which will air on pay-per-view.
Roller (11-6) recently snapped a three fight losing streak at UFC 148 with a unanimous decision victory over John Alessio.
The victory against Alessio was his first UFC victory since March of 2011 when he defeated Thiago Tavares. During his three fight losing streak in the UFC, he lost to Melvin Guillard, TJ Grant and Michael Johnson.
Volkmann (14-3) entered the UFC as a welterweight, but dropped down to the lightweight division after he started his UFC career with two straight losses. He went on a five fight winning streak and that streak was snapped at UFC 146 in May.
He was defeated by Paul Sass by submission on the UFC 146 preliminary card in the first round and it was his first submission lost since 2010.
UFC 151 takes place on September 1st from the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas and will be headlined by Jon Jones defending his light heavyweight title against former Pride and Strikeforce champion Dan Henderson.
