The Ultimate Fighter 18: Rousey vs Tate Episode 8 took place last night on Fox Sports 1 was a mid-season highlight show.
According to Nielsen sources, last night’s episode eight of The Ultimate Fighter landed at 476,000k total viewers, down 30 percent from last week’s full-episode of 672,000 total viewers.
No real worry here as the UFC and Fox were smart to build a highlight show considering they went head-to-head with national Fox which offered up game one of the World Series featuring two big market baseball teams.
Speaking of the World Series, game one was up 7% compared to last years game and reached 13.73 million viewers with a 9.4 overnight rating and a peak of 11.2 during the 2nd inning. Overall, not huge for MLB, but enough to pull key viewers for sure.
When it came to the rest of the nights heat-to-head competition on the national side, the UFC lost out to CSI (10.25 million w/ 2.1 rating), Nashville (5.52 million, w/ 1.6 rating) and Ironside (3.88 million w/ 0.8 rating). On the cable side they lost out to Duck Dynasty (8.41 million w/ 3.5 rating) and Southpark (1.828 w/ 1.0 rating).
