The inaugural season of Fight Master wrapped up on Saturday night as Joe Riggs defeated Mike Bronzoulis by unanimous decision to win the reality show.
They would exchange strikes for the first three minutes in the opening round before Riggs was able to get the fight to the ground.
Riggs would be able to transition to the back of Bronzoulis and immediately worked for a rear-naked choke. He would be unable to get the choke hold submission and landed multiple strikes on the ground before the round came to a conclusion.
As the second round opened, Riggs was able to get the fight to the ground. Bronzoulis would be able to get back to his feet and the fighters clinched against the fence. A cut opened up on the outside of Riggs’ left eye and it’s unknown how the cut was opened.
Riggs was able to get the fight back to the ground after an exchange of strikes. Once again, he would get the back of Bronzoulis. He would not be able to get the submission and Bronzoulis was able to transition into the guard of Riggs. They would remain in this position until the end of the round, and the fight moved into the final round.
Bronzoulis opened up the third round by landing a combination, but Riggs was able to come back and land a combination as well. For the third time in the fight, Riggs took the fight to the ground and got the back of Bronzoulis. Just like previous rounds, he would be unable to get the submission and eventually, Bronzoulis was able to get on top of Riggs.
They would end the fight with both guys on their feet and the scorecards would decide the fight. All the judges scoring the fight had it 30-27 for Riggs (40-14, 1NC) and he wins the inaugural season of Fight Master.
