A light heavyweight bout has been added to UFC Fight Night 35 in Georgia as Thiago Silva will meet Ovince St. Preux.
UFC officials announced the fight booking and the bout is expected to take place on the main card broadcast on Fox Sports 1.
UFC Fight Night 35 will take place from the Arena at Gwinnett Center in Duluth, Georgia and will be headlined by a middleweight bout as Luke Rockhold meets Costa Philippou.
Silva (16-3, 2NC) has won back to back fights with most most recent win coming last month at UFC Fight Night 29 as he defeated Matt Hamill by unanimous decision. The fight with Hamill ended up being a catchweight bout of 208 pounds due to Silva missing weight, and this was the first time in his UFC career that he was unable to make weight.
St. Preux (14-5) has won ten of his last eleven fights after being defeated four times in his first seven fights. He is currently on a three fight winning streak and two of those wins have come in the UFC. His most recent victory took place at UFC Fight Night 26 and he defeated Cody Donovan by knockout in the first round.
